Hello, first post here, I'm a newbie. I have a Closed Loop Servo MicroMill DSLS 3000. I've been having success with rotation axis milling using DeskProto but recently ran into a snag. I was running a 1/32" cutter and after 5 minutes of running the machine I got an emergency estop trigger. I was not cutting aggressively since it was the finishing pass and my speed was only 5 ipm.

Tonight I saw that some guy is advertising a Micro Mill DSLS 3000 4axis CNC mill for 800 with tooling, controller, and Mach 3. He claims it's like new. I have no need of this thing, but it retails for 3700, and I assume that software could also be used for a lathe. It might be a nice way to learn about CNC milling on the cheap.

Hello, I have been thinking about investing in a CNC micro milling machine for quite some time. The idea is very temping. However, they are not cheap and my knowledge of which machine is capable of doing what is sketchy at best. I have a background in 3D modeling for TV and Film which I am hoping will translate to a certain degree at least, into machining.
