Specifically, the area just outside the palace itself with the tree, Moros, has about 10 spawns per realm, takes about one minute per loop, and has a ton of different reagents you'll need a lot of for the crafting quests. House of scales is better, but can take longer to farm so do this: Run it once for the exp and chance of drops, try and do belloq if you can to get that 1% accuracy deck, then run waterworks and get the robe and boots, keep the WT hat for the blade, I think the stats are slightly better anyways.

Mirage and Empyrea drop some noticeable amounts of those. As for Iron, questing and farming in lower worlds is good, and feeding items (like seeds and music scrolls, dropping in abundance in upper worlds) to your pets are two ways of getting it. Transmuting is good for the last few, not for the bulk of the stuff needed.

BIG TIP: GET WATERWORKS GEAR AT 60 AND THEN KEEP THOSE BOOTS, ROBE, AND HAT UNTIL DARKMOOR GEAR AT LVL 100. people get way too sidetracked with gear when waterworks is very good until 100 (except from some specific crown gear on the way). Of course, athames, ring, amulets can change along the way to 100 since they actually make some difference.

Fighting mobs for reagents is really slow, the best places to farm ore are the basilica and atheneum in dragonspyre but that place is pretty popular. A much less popular place is in mirkholm keep by the spirit runner wolves or whatever they're called.
You can farm ore in dragonspyre and sometimes diamonds drop as rare from the ore, so you can farm the ore and get some diamonds, then use all that ore to transmute more diamonds. True, thanks! Mrikholm keep for finding ore is the best imo. Someone on wizard101 central had a really good map marking all the locations.

Darkmoor grinding is and always will be my least favorite part of the game, and on my last 2 wizards I've done the dungeon once and dropped 5 on the chest. I hate it. I've been attempting to do it on my Storm and get the most incompetent people imaginable.

You fight the same boss over and over until they eventually drop the gear you want from them. Farming is a necessity to be competitive in PvP, and it will make your life a great deal easier in PvE.
Aethyr Ore is a rare drop from harvesting Aethyr Dust. You can transmute Aethyr Dust into Aethyr Ore with the recipe sold by Loligo in Aeriel Shores or Verrin in Nimus Citadel. One Aethyr Ore requires 15 Aethyr Dust. That means you will need 375 Aethyr Dust to get the required 25 Aethyr Ore.
